Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Sun Pharmaceutical Limited, Samba Unit, implementation support provided Care For You NGO, has extended vital infrastructure support to government schools in remote villages of Samba block to enhance the learning environment for students.
As part of its educational initiative, SunVidya, Sun Pharma CSR recently provided 50 desks to the Government Higher Secondary School, villages in the Samba block, Jammu—areas with limited road access. This effort has significantly improved learning conditions for students who earlier studied sitting on mats, even during harsh winters, by enabling them to learn in more comfortable and dignified classroom settings. Shri Kewal Krishan, Chief Education Officer, expressed sincere gratitude to Sun Pharma and senior authorities for their support in creating better classrooms for these children, acknowledging the positive impact on both students and the overall school environment.
In addition, Sun Pharmaceutical Limited, Samba Unit, implementation support provided by Care For You NGO, today donated 50 school desks to Government Higher Secondary School, Sarna, further strengthening educational infrastructure in the region. The programme was warmly welcomed by the school authorities and students. To mark the occasion, students presented cultural performances and an NCC parade, reflecting their enthusiasm and gratitude for the support extended to the institution.
The function was graced by the Chief Guest, CEO Samba, Shri Kewal Krishan Ji, who appreciated the CSR efforts of Sun Pharmaceutical Limited and the implementation support provided by Care For You NGO. He emphasized the importance of public–private partnerships in strengthening educational infrastructure in government schools. Principal, Government Higher Secondary School Sarna, Smt. Anita Sharma, expressed heartfelt thanks to Sun Pharmaceutical Limited and Care For You NGO for this meaningful initiative, stating that the donated desks would greatly benefit students and improve classroom facilities. Representing Sun Pharmaceutical Limited, Priyanka Talwar, Executive CSR, was present during the programme. From Care For You NGO, Founder President Mr Touseef Malik , State Coordinator Ramiz Raja & State Technical Head Mr. Syed Ashfaq Andrabi attended the event, reaffirming the NGO’s commitment to educational and community development.
Also present on the occasion were Firdous Akthar, Representative from the CEO’s Office, along with lecturers, teachers of the school, and PRI members of the village, who collectively appreciated the CSR-driven infrastructure support.
